12/12/2005

BASF has increased its production capacity for quinophthalone pigments at its Ludwigshafen site in Germany to 1,400 metric tons per annum. The company said it is registering growing worldwide demand for these high-grade yellow pigments, which are marketed under the brand name Paliotol. The investment will ensure that BASF continues to provide delivery reliability while maintaining the quality standard of its Paliotol pigments.

BASF is the only manufacturer of this pigment group (Pigment Yellow 138). Paliotol pigments are used in diverse areas, ranging from coatings, through to the coloration of polymer fibres, and films and injection mouldings.
