US designer of golf-inspired lifestyle sportswear Ashworth, Inc. has appointed a new outside director to the company's board effective January 1, 2006.

The board approved the appointment of Mr. Detlef Adler to serve as director and he will now stand for election at the company's Annual Meeting of Stockholders scheduled for March 2006. He will serve on the Compensation and Human Resources and the corporate Governance Committee and Nominating Committee.

Mr. Adler has extensive supply chain related experience and is CEO of Seidensticker Group, an international apparel company based in Germany.

After Mr. Adler's appointment, the board will have seven directors comprised of six independent directors and one employee director.
