With the 2006 Winter Olympic opening ceremony just days away, Canadian lifestyle brand Roots, the official outfitter of the 2006 US Olympic Team, has reported a 15-20% increase in online sales and a 25% increase in general web traffic compared with its original forecast.

In addition to the Team USA T-shirts, scarves and trademark berets, Roots offers replicas of the jackets worn by Olympians during the opening ceremony.

Established in Toronto in 1973, by co-founders Michael Budman and Don Green, Roots offers a range of clothing, leather goods and accessories. The company operates nearly 150 branded stores, including more than 125 in Canada, five in the United States and 18 in Taiwan.
