Dow Corning to unveil new impact protection technology
US-based supplier of silicone solutions for the textile industry Dow Corning Corporation, will introduce its new patented impact protection technology – the Dow Corning Active Protection System – at the Techtextil-Symposium North America in March in
The presentation, entitled Defense and Comfort: New Advances in Impact Protection Textiles, will be given by Graham Budden, a senior technical service chemist.
For years, manufacturers of high-performance apparel have struggled to develop systems that protect against high-energy impacts without sacrificing flexibility, breathability or ease of use,” says Budden. Mr Budden’s presentation will review the development and testing of the Active Protection System as well as its potential for wide-ranging applications within the textile industry. In addition, he will share performance data comparing the Active Protection System with other protective apparel armour systems.
