Radici to highlight Radilon PA6 and PA66 yarn with Sanitized Silver

17/02/2006

RadiciFibres Fashion&Interiors, the first player in the market to develop both PA6 and PA66 antibacterial yarns to meet the needs of all textile applications, will highlight its Radilon yarns at the upcoming Expofil exhibition in Paris.

Thanks to the innovative additive Sanitized Silver impregnated in the polymer matrix of the fibre, Radilon is said to guarantee incomparable, long-lasting performance.

Radilon’s combination of properties results in a significant improvement in skin wellbeing and freshness, not only reducing the development of allergies and unpleasant odours, but also makes clothing more hygienic.

Sanitized Silver—silver ions in a glass ceramic matrix—is incorporated directly into the fibre during the production process. This way the active ingredient remains firmly bonded to the fibre itself and cannot be dispersed into the environment, thereby ensuring long-lasting protection.

Radilon also eliminates only excess bacteria, so as to maintain the optimal minimal level of flora on the skin. Unlike traditional disinfection methods that completely eradicate bacterial flora and lead to allergies, the Radilon process inhibits the harmful proliferation of excess bacteria, while retaining the bacterial flora normally present on the skin.

Furthermore thanks to the natural properties of silver and the fact that the substance is impregnated into the fibre, Radilon’s antibacterial agent cannot migrate onto the skin and cause irritation. The skin retains its normal healthful bacterial flora, which prevents the development of allergies.

RadiciFibres Fashion&Interiors will also present its new colour range at Expofil: 24-colours of polyamide 6 POY and texturised yarns. These products are said to be ideal for hosiery and seamless fabrics, as well as for the fancy yarn market.
