Texworld, held in Paris in February, attracted 17,099 visitors, an increase of 1.7% over March 2005. The majority of buyers came from Europe and there was a strong increase in the number of visitors from Northern European countries such as Norway (+16 %) and Denmark (+20 %) as well as EU newcomers and candidate states Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Serbia and Bulgaria. There was also growth in the number of buyers from Germany and Italy (+3 % each). In contrast, there was a significant drop in visitor numbers from Poland, the Czech Republic and Portugal. Visitors from South America, particularly Brazil, grew overall by 20%.
