In January 2006 compared to December 2005, manufacturing of textiles and textile products fell by 1.6% in both zones, and transport equipment decreased by 14.4% in the euro-zone and by 8.7% in the EU25.

However, year-on-year the sector showed an improvement. In January 2006 compared with January 2005, manufacturing of textiles and textile products grew by 9.4% and 7.5% respectively.
