Fringe programmes to enhance Interstoff

09/05/2006

Manufacturers and buyers from the international garment and apparel fabric sector are preparing for Interstoff Asia which will run concurrently with Source It in Hong Kong on October 4-6.

Fringe programmes at Interstoff will include:

Fabric-To-Fashion: This exercise enables visitors to follow the journey of garment production from raw material to finished products: creation, function and fashion. The garments will be displayed both in a mannequin showcase and in the fashion shows.

A series of fashion shows will give exhibitors the unique opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, versatility and craftsmanship. The shows will include collections from upcoming local and ASEAN designers, and garment and textile manufacturers.

Designer's Corner will allow textile and garment designers to showcase their creations. Representatives from the Young Fashion Designers Society (Hong Kong) as well as the winners of the Texprint competition will introduce the latest fashion trends.

The Interstoff Asia Directions trend forum will present the textile forecast for Autumn/Winter 2007/2008. This season, the forum will be designed by Here & There from New York, USA.

The latest trends will also be highlighted at the Function section of the fair. This autumn it will not only feature the popular live tests performed by the Taiwan Textile Federation but will also highlight the latest trend in performance textiles: environmentally-friendly functional fabrics. With the emergence of eco-fabrics on many buyers' lists, an eco-labelling system was launched in autumn 2005. The green labels will make their comeback at Interstoff Asia Autumn 2006 highlighting exhibitors that can offer environmentally-friendly products.

Interstoff Asia seminars are a popular venue for gathering market and trend information. This October the schedule will cover a wide range of topics including design & trends, business strategy and special product presentation.
