Nike launches Air Zoom Moire

24/05/2006

Nike is introducing the Air Zoom Moire, said to be the first footwear designed to talk to Apple's iPod nano.

The Air Zoom Moire connects to the iPod through a wireless Nike+iPod Sport Kit, on which then information on time, distance, calories burned and pace is stored on the iPod and displayed on the screen; real-time audible feedback is also provided through headphones. The kit includes an in-shoe sensor and a receiver that attaches to iPod.

Nike also is introducing a range of performance apparel and accessories, including jackets, tops, shorts and armband, designed for the iPod nano and Nike+iPod Sport Kit. All Nike+ apparel is designed for the way athletes move, integrating smart, ergonomic design, performance-specific materials, ventilation, and weather protection.

Nike will introduce a further six footwear styles that are Nike+ ready in the autumn.
