Canadian dollar affects results at ADS
Canadian technical textiles manufacturer ADS Inc. has recorded its financial results for the first quarter, ended April 30, which shows that sales during this period totalled $11.6 million, a decrease of $820,000 or 6.6% compared with the first quarter of the preceding year.
The company estimates that the appreciation of the Canadian dollar had a negative impact of approximately $400,000 on sales this quarter.
During the quarter the company recorded a net loss of $116,000, compared with net earnings of $330,000 for the same three-month period a year earlier.
