The European Technology Platform for the Future of Textiles and Clothing presented its Strategic Research Agenda at its first annual public conference in Brussels. The conference was attended by 300 representatives from the textile and clothing industry, research centres and European and national public authorities.

In his opening address, EU Research Commissioner Janez Potočnik congratulated the Technology Platform for the achievement of this important milestone and assured the European Textile and Clothing industry and its research community of the EC’s continued support.

Euratex’s president Filiep Libeert summarised the agenda’s objectives, which are to avoid textile research fragmentation in Europe, help in setting the right research priorities and offering added value to the industry as a whole.
