Turkmenistan’s Institute of Statistics has reported that the country’s GDP grew by 20% in the January to May period.

A high rate of growth was observed in industry (22.4%), agriculture (20.9%), construction (17.8%), transport and communication (19.6%) and trade (24.8%). Expansion was also observed in the textile industry, with an 11% increase in ready-made garments, 4% in washed wool, 3% in cotton fabric and 26% in leather goods.
