Solutia raises adipic acid price
Chemical solutions company Solutia Inc. has implemented a price increase of $0.05 per pound for adipic acid, which is primarily used to produce nylon. This increase will apply to North American orders shipped on or after July 1, for all non-contract customers and where contracts allow.
"We are implementing this price increase due to the recent rapid escalation of raw material costs and sustained high energy and transportation costs that continue to affect our business, as well as the strong global demand for adipic acid," said Richard Kisiel, general manager, Nylon Intermediates, Solutia Inc.
