WL Gore has licensed running footwear brand innov-8 to produce Gore-Tex and Gore-Tex XCR running shoes.

Innov-8 launched itself in the off-road shoe market in 2003 and has since seen significant growth in the UK, currently selling in over 130 specialist shops.

For autumn/winter 2006/07 Innov-8 will incorporate Gore-Tex XCR into three new designs to offer waterproofness and climate comfort. In addition to this, innov-8—in partnership with Gore—will launch a patent pending fully integrated detachable gaiter system.
