Manufacturer of polyester products Wellman, Inc. has increased the price of its chemical-based Fortrel polyester staple fibre products by four cents/lb, effective for July 16 shipments.

Joe Tucker, vice president, fibres and recycled products group, noted, "This price increase is made necessary by the continued escalation in the cost of our petrochemical-based raw materials and their feedstocks."
