China focuses on IPR issues in WTO standardisation

In order to promote work on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Issues in WTO Standardisation, the Department of WTO Affairs in China has called governmental departments together to discuss various solutions. The conference, hosted by Zhang Xiangchen, director of the Department of WTO Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce, was attended by the State Council Legislative Office, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Information Industry, among others.

onditions of the 40th General Conference of the WTO Committee were announced during the conference and research regarding further development of work was presented.

Representatives from all units concluded that IPR issues in standardisation were significant to China’s economy, technological development and foreign trade and felt that all departments should pull together in the preparation for a December seminar on IPR Issues in WTO Standardisation.
