Canadian swimwear retailer Solestrom has released a new line of high-tech bikinis. Its SmartSwim UV Smart Bikini features a smart fabric UV meter which collects UV data though a smart fabric belt, and reports the index to the wearer. The electronic components are built into the removable belt, and can even be worn underwater.

The SmartSwim UV Index Detector Bikini has UV sensitive beads that change colour with the level of UV intensity. The reading gives more of a range rather than an accurate number, but is able to show whether the UV is low, moderate or high.
