According to media reports, a new shoe system has been introduced that is said to be capable of heating or cooling the feet. The target markets for the product include the sports industry as well as the military and emergency services.

The material enabling the temperature variation is incorporated into the shoe’s structure during the manufacturing process, with the cooling/heating probe in contact with the sole of the foot.

According to the designers, the boot is able to extract heat from the environment and push it back into the boot through the Acti-Heat system. By contrast, the Acti-Cool system can extract heat from the foot and release the warmth if the wearer is in a warm environment.
