Clothing, soft luggage and home products retailer Land’s End has launched a new backpack which features electroluminescent lamps. Made up of millions of separate luminous "dots," these lamps are said to penetrate darkness more efficiently than typical lights or reflective materials. According to independent testing, the Cool Blue's lights can be seen from up to 1,000 feet away in darkness.

Cool Blue comprises 600-denier poly fabric with a double-strength 1,200-denier bottom and the padded shoulder straps and lumbar area adds comfort.
