Deckers Outdoor raises sales guidance

28/07/2006

Footwear company Deckers Outdoor Corporation has reported higher sales for the second quarter ended June 30.

Net sales increased 3.4% to $41.7 million compared with $40.3 million last year, ahead of the company’s previous guidance range of $38 million to $40 million.

As anticipated, Teva net sales for the second quarter were $22.8 million compared with $24.8 million for the same period last year. This decrease in the volume of sales was the result of fewer closeout sales, which was partially offset by an increase in full margin sales.

UGG net sales for the second quarter increased 19.2% to $15.9 million compared with $13.3 million for the same period a year ago. Sales were positively impacted by a strong reorder business for the UGG spring line, as well as continued demand for core products.

Simple net sales increased 39.9% to $3 million for the second quarter compared with $2.2 million for the same period last year.

The company has raised its full year sales guidance to a range of $272 million to $278 million compared with its previous expectation of $268 million to $276 million.

Third quarter sales guidance is expected to be between $71 million to $74 million and fourth quarter sales guidance between $103 million to $106 million.
