US manufacturer of polyester products Wellman, Inc. will increase the price of all of its polyester staple fibre products by 5 cents/pound from September 3.

Vice president, Fibres and Recycled Products Group, Joe Tucker, said the increase was due to the continuing rise in petroleum-based raw material costs, stating, “We simply cannot absorb or offset these increases."
