Branded athletic and sporting goods, apparel and footwear company Russell Corporation has been acquired by apparel company Fruit of the Loom, Inc., a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Russell stockholders approved the transaction at a special stockholder's meeting on August 1.
