Crown Princess Mary will open the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF) on August 10, with a record 1,862 brands on display. Last year’s fair attracted 25,383 visitors, and organisers are expecting an even greater turnout for this year’s event, which will take place in Copenhagen from August 10-13.

Categories include men’s, women’s and children’s fashion, footwear, bags and leathergoods, swimwear and accessories.

Sales of children’s clothing in Denmark have increased by more than 50% since 2000 and are now estimated to total DKK 5-6 billion ($860.2 million – $1.03 billion) and rising. Approximately 180 exhibitors will be showcasing spring/summer 2007 collections at CIFFKIDS.
