Under Armour signs new agreement with NFL
US-based branded apparel, footwear and accessories company Under Armour Inc. has signed an agreement with the National Football League (NFL) to supply branded cleats to its players. Reports indicate that the NFL may also take a 1% stake in the sportswear company, whose footwear sector reported revenues of $15.6 million in the first quarter.
Each company will use the other’s logo; the Under Armour logo will appear on NFL cleats and NFL logos will feature in its footwear advertising campaigns.
NFL players are currently able to display only Reebok and Nike logos on their football shoes.
The company plans to launch a range of baseball cleats later this year.
