Tunisia export levels remain positive
Reports indicate that Tunisian exports totalled $10.41 billion in 2005 which included textiles, shoes, leather goods and chemicals.
The country’s exports are said to represent 45% of GDP, and it is anticipated that this will increase to around 50% in the next three years.
Officials are expecting an 8.7% increase in exports of goods and services this year.
Tunisia has benefited from preferential bilateral trade with the EU for a number of years and its most significant trade partners—France, Italy and Germany—are said to account for 61.5% of its export sales.
