Bayer MaterialScience LLC, the US subsidiary of Germany-based polymer company Bayer MaterialScience AG, has approved a significant upgrade project at its New Martinsville, West Virginia, integrated polyol and systems production location. The $8 million project is intended to provide state-of-the-art computerised control for the entire formulated systems production processes from raw material receipt to final product shipment. It will be implemented in phases, with completion planned for the fourth quarter of 2007.

Bayer MaterialScience business activities are focused on the manufacture of high-tech polymer materials and the development of innovative solutions for products used in many areas of daily life. The main segments served include the sports and leisure and automotive sectors.
