A fire broke out in the early hours of August 18 on the site of German chemicals company Lanxess in Tarragona, Spain, but was put out immediately by the on-site fire department.

No-one was injured and there was no damage to the environment or the local population.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established.

The company's Styrenic Resins Business Unit produces ABS plastics at the site.
