Survey reveals appeal of athletic shoes to Chinese consumers

According to a survey by US-based package delivery company UPS, involving 1,200 middle-class consumers in six Chinese cities, the American products most sought after by Chinese consumers are blue jeans, DVDs, moisturiser and athletic shoes.

More than 70% of consumers said they would like to buy American athletic shoes and 64% said they wanted to buy blue jeans, up substantially compared with 2005 figures.
 

A large number of consumers (56%) wanted to hear messages about quality ingredients or workmanship in advertising about American products. This number increased to 65% when it comes to advertising fashion and apparel.
