Phillips-Van Heusen records income of $29 million

US-based apparel and footwear company Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation has reported second quarter net income of $29 million compared with second quarter 2005 income of $23.5 million.

For the six months, net income was $77.7 million compared with $48.5 million in 2005.

Total revenues in the second quarter increased by 3% to $458.9 million from $443.5 million in the prior year. Revenue growth was driven by a 13% increase in the Calvin Klein Licensing business, the continued strong performance of the company's outlet retail business and wholesale sportswear business, particularly Calvin Klein men's better sportswear and Arrow. For the six months, total revenues increased 5% to $965.4 million from $915.6 million in 2005.
