US-based electronic textiles firm Textronics, Inc. has named John Abeles to its board of directors.

Mr Abeles is founder and general partner of private venture capital partnership Northlea Partners Ltd. A physician and pharmacologist, he also serves as president of MedVest, Inc., a business and financial consulting firm.
