Celanese to raise polyvinyl alcohol prices

07/09/2006

Dallas-based chemical company Celanese Chemicals is to increase the price of all Celvol, Celvol E and Celvol SP grades of polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) in North America, South America, Europe and Asia by 7%. The increase will be effective October 1, or as contracts allow.

According to PVOH commercial director Scott Neuheardt, the price increase is mainly due to continuing and sustained increases in energy and raw material costs.

These products are used in a range of industrial and consumer end-use applications including adhesives, coatings, engineered fabrics, and textiles.
