Women’s work and casual sportswear company Bernard Chaus, Inc. has reported a decline in earnings for the fourth quarter ended June 30 and fiscal year 2006.

For the fourth quarter, revenues increased by approximately 27% to $36.4 million from $28.7 million in the fourth quarter 2005. The company reported a net loss for the period of $1.05 million compared with net loss of $3.3 million in the prior year period.

For fiscal 2006, revenues were $136.8 million compared with $143.3 million in 2005. The company's net loss for the fiscal year was $4.9 million compared with net loss of $1.2 million the previous year.
