11/09/2006

According to the Vietnamese Ministry of Trade, Vietnam’s exports quota-bound textile and garment products to the US have reached some $1.5 billion so far this year, 8% higher than in the same period last year.

Almost all of the categories subject to quotas have already used over 75% of their total quotas for the year with nearly four months to go.

Despite the quotas imposed,
Vietnam expects to earn $5.5 billion from garment and textile exports, mainly to the EU and the USA
in 2006, up nearly 14.6% against 2005.
