Bayer MaterialScience raises prices for polyurethane chemicals
12/09/2006
Effective September 15, German chemical company Bayer MaterialScience AG is raising the sales prices of the polyurethane raw materials Desmodur T80 and T65 by €0.60 per kilogram, and Desmophen and Arcol by €0.10 per kilogram. This applies to all deliveries in the EMEA region (Europe , Middle East , Africa ) and is a result of continued increases in energy and raw material costs for manufacturing polyurethane raw materials as well as rising demand. This will also generate the margins necessary for new investments that will safeguard future demand. Contractual obligations in existence at the time when the price increases come into effect remain unaffected.
The company is among the world’s largest polymer companies with business activities focused on the manufacture of high-tech polymer materials. The main segments served include sports and leisure, automotive and construction.
