BASF increases prices for Neopentylglycol and Trimethylolpropane
18/09/2006
German chemical company BASF is raising its prices for its polyalcohols Neopentylglycol (NPG) and Trimethylolpropane (TMPhydro) in Europe by 190 Euro/mt with immediate effect, or as existing contracts permit. The company attributes the increment to sharp increases in raw material costs and high energy and logistics costs.
Polyalcohols are widely used in solvent free or high solid coatings, as well as in polyurethanes, alkyd resins and synthetic lubricants.
