New Jockey 3D Innovations for athletes

US-based underwear company Jockey International has launched the 3D Innovations underwear range designed for sports use which has eight-way stretch for greater comfort and fit.

Thousands of male bodies from the US and UK were scanned and measured in order to find a suitable fit for different builds.

The range also features an innovative leg binding and stitching technique. Cutting on the bias—a 1930’s couture pattern technology to give two-way stretch—is followed through with the cotton/spandex fabric, cut across the grain to give four-way stretch. The two halves are then twisted and joined with a seam to give the eight-way stretch, mimicking the way skin itself stretches during movement.
