Hartmarx appoints group president of HMX Sportswear

US manufacturer of casual, golf and corporate apparel Hartmarx Corporation has named Eric Prengel group president of HMX Sportswear, effective October 9. Reporting directly to Hartmarx chairman and chief executive officer Homi Patel, Mr Prengel will oversee the company's wholesale sportswear lines. He succeeds Jay Friedman.

He joins the company from Marc Ecko Enterprises, where he was senior vice president of Sales and Strategic Planning. He has also worked as vice president of Planning at Polo Ralph Lauren, national sales manager and director of Planning at Kenneth Cole Sportswear and senior planner at J Crew.
