Applied Technologies sector boosts Albany’s Q3 results

Custom-designed paper machine fabrics and process belts provider Albany International Corp. has reported a $0.5 million, or 0.2%, increase in net sales for third quarter ended September 30 compared with the corresponding period in 2005. Excluding the effect of changes in currency translation rates, net sales decreased 2.3%.
Net sales for the Applied Technologies sector, which applies to the company’s advanced textiles and materials industries including insulation for personal outerwear and home furnishings (PrimaLoft); specialty materials and composite structures; and industrial belts for Tannery, Textile, and Corrugator applications reported sales of $35,251 in the third quarter compared with 31,374 in 2005, an increase of 12.3%.
