Nike and Futbol Club (FC) Barcelona have announced a new five-year sponsorship agreement for approximately $189 million plus bonuses and royalties, which extends their relationship to 2013 with a possible five-year renewal. The agreement includes a significant marketing investment over the life of the contract to position FC Barcelona worldwide and to support its "More than a club" motto and community activities.

Nike has been sponsoring FC Barcelona since 1998, which has an estimated 70 million supporters worldwide. Nike currently sponsors 32 football clubs, 18 national teams worldwide and many of the game's best players to the tune of $1.5 billion.
