SATRA safety pioneer convenes European protective clothing committee

David McKeown, one of the pioneers of personal protective equipment testing at research and technology centre SATRA, has been appointed convenor for a key European committee that is revising standards relating to protection against chainsaws.

McKeown is responsible to the committee, which is revising standards for chainsaw protective clothing, such as jackets, trousers and gloves. He is also convenor of a committee bringing together European test houses to discuss and solve problems involving the interpretation of standards for chainsaw protective products.
