The North Face (TNF) sponsored athlete Elisabeth Hawker has won the International Association of Ultra Runners IAU 2006 100km World Championship in Misari, Korea. With over 300 participants from more than 40 different countries, the event is said to be the most prestigious 100km running challenge in the world.

Ranked 19th in pre-race listings, Ms Hawker confessed, “It was a daunting responsibility, as well as an honour to be part of [Great Britain’s] team.  I was questioning my ‘right’ to be there with such a tough field.” 

When not winning the world’s most difficult 100km race, Ms Hawker works full time at the British Antarctic Survey.
