European Commission approves acquisition of Saurer

The European Commission has cleared the proposed acquisition by Oerlikon Corporation AG, supplier of high-tech coatings and components, of Switzerland-based Saurer AG, which manufactures textile machinery and transmission systems.

The Commission concluded that the transaction between the two Swiss companies would not significantly impede competition in the European Economic Area or any substantial part of it.
