Cognis expands intermediates production capacity at Jinshan site

Global specialty chemicals supplier Cognis has opened its expanded and modernised production site at Jinshan near Shanghai, China. The $4.9 million investment has not only increased the capacity of the plant, but will also expand the range of products that the company’s Process Chemicals strategic business is able to offer textile manufacturers. The construction work took 21 months, and saw the layout and equipment of the existing facility adapted to new requirements.

By expanding its production capacity for textile (and leather) intermediates and final blends, Cognis hopes to further enhance its ability to meet the particular requirements of its customers in the Asia-Pacific region. The Jinshan site can now produce larger volumes and a greater variety of products—including a wider range of textile auxiliaries.
