Teijin expands capacity of Twaron production

07/12/2006

In response to increased demand, Japan-based Teijin Limited has begun work on increasing the production capacity of its Twaron aramid fibres at its Teijin Twaron B.V. plant in
Arnhem, Netherlands. Expansion work commenced in November and the new facilities will be phased in gradually, to increase capacity by approximately 15% by the end of 2008.

Para-aramid fibres offer strength, heat resistance, modulus and protection properties and are used in many applications such as personal safety and protective applications, ropes, cables, composite materials, and rubber reinforcements.

Founded in 2000, Teijin Twaron currently employs approximately 1,100 staff.
