Indian Minister of Commerce & Industry Kamal Nath has called upon Arab companies to consider investment opportunities in the country and urged stronger bilateral trade between India and Arab nations.
He drew the attention of Arab representatives to India’s improved manufacturing activities including textiles, industrial fabrics, leather and leather goods and petrochemicals and the comparative advantages that the country holds in these sectors as a result of its high quality and low cost production systems.
He reported that, “India’s exports to the Arab world, which stood at $14 billion in 2004-05, went up by 17.23% to $17 billion in 2005-06.”
