Nike’s Air Force 1 celebrates 25th anniversary

Nike has celebrated the 25th anniversary of its Air Force 1 basketball shoe with a celebrity-packed event, where a collection of 1,040 custom pairs of Air Force 1's, from the Nike archives and collectors were displayed together for the first time ever. This collection featured some of the most popular shoes from the Air Force 1's past and the yet to be released Air Force 25.

Nike released the Air Force 1 twenty-five years ago to meet the heavy demands of the top players in the game of basketball and in 1982 it became the first basketball shoe to feature Nike Air technology.

In celebration of the anniversary pf the Air Force 1, Nike will introduce a new performance basketball shoe, the Air Force 25 in 2007.
