Changes to Lanxess’ management board

German chemical company Lanxess AG has announced several changes in its board of management. Effective July 1, 2007, chairman of the Board Dr Axel Heitmann’s contract, which expires in spring 2008, will be extended by five years. Chief financial officer Matthias Zachert’s contract has also been extended for another five years.
Dr Rainier van Roessel has been appointed as a new member of the board. He presently heads the Rubber Chemicals Business Unit and the company’s Belgian organisation. From January 2007, he will become responsible for three business units from the Performance Chemicals Group segment as well as for all of the company’s international organisations and Group Functions for IT, logistics, supply chain and procurement and other important group initiatives. He has 20 years of international management experience in the chemical business.
Dr Martin Wienkenhöver and Dr Ulrich Koemm will continue their responsibilities within the framework of their mandates expiring in spring 2008.
