Gander Mountain names new chairman

Hunting, camping, marine and outdoor products retailer Gander Mountain Company has named David Pratt, founder of United Industries, as chairman of the company's board of directors, effective December 13.

Ronald Erickson was elected vice chairman. One of the founders of the company, he has been chairman since 1997.

The company also announced that it intends to open more than a dozen new stores in fiscal 2007 and upgrade a number of existing stores.
