Schoeller wins Frost & Sullivan product innovation of the year award
Swiss developer and manufacturer of functional fabrics and innovative textile technologies Schoeller Textil AG, has received the 2006 Frost & Sullivan ‘Product Innovation of the Year’ award for its bionic climate membrane, c_change. The award is presented each year to a company that has demonstrated excellence in new products and technologies within their industry.
c_change is a water and wind-proof membrane technology that adapts to temperature and humidity changes, and offers a high level of breathability and comfort to the wearer. Set to a predetermined temperature range, as soon as the climate inside a garment becomes warmer, the membrane’s flexible polymer structure opens and allows water vapour to escape quickly to the outside. When the body begins to cool and produce less moisture, the polymer structure reverts to its original position. Body heat is stored during the process which is used to warm the body when necessary.
Schoeller uses the membrane in combination with its range of fabrics and technologies.
