15/12/2006

Burton Snowboards is expanding its Outlast offering from traditional boot linings to a full range of apparel for the 2007 Burton collection. Burton has introduced 2007 outerwear (jacket and pants), base layers (shirts and pants) and socks that feature Outlast technology to regulate body temperature.

Outlast technology a patented formulation of Thermocules or microencapsulated phase-change materials that are applied to fibres, fabrics and coatings. Products equipped with Outlast phase-change material (PCM) balance temperature fluctuations as the Thermocules continuously absorb excess body heat and release it to maintain a more constant body temperature.

In addition, Burton uses Outlast technology throughout its snowboard boot line to offer riders comfortable boots. Outlast temperature-buffering boot linings are available in many of the models worn by the world’s leading riders including Olympic medalists Shaun White (Shaun White), Ross Powers (Ion), and Kelly Clark (Supreme).
